Pujiang Innovation Forum – 2019 International Science, Technology and Innovation Think Tank Forum was Held in Shanghai

“Pujiang Innovation Forum – 2019 International Science, Technology and Innovation Forum” was held between 6th -7th of May, 2019 in Shanghai. The forum was supported by Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, Shanghai Academy of Science and Technology for Development, and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation. The event is hosted by Shanghai Institute for Science of Science where discussions and exchanges had been conducted around the theme “Technology Foresight: Science, Technology and Innovation in 2035”. 17 Speakers from top international and domestic science, technology and innovation think tanks delivered keynote speeches and around 200 delegates took part in the event.
  
Hu Zhijian, the president of Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development and the chairman of the forum, delivered the welcoming speech. Zhang Quan, the chairman of Science and Technology Commission was also present at the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Chen Long, deputy secretary of the Party Committee for Science and Technology in Shanghai, and Luo Dajin, deputy director of Shanghai Commission for Science and Technology, unveiled the report “Research Fronts and Hotspots in Top Cities”, which is jointly written by Shanghai Institute for Science of Science, Shanghai Institute of Nutrition and Health under Chinese Academy of Sciences, Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of Shanghai under Shanghai Library. Shi Qian, the director of Shanghai Institute for Science of Science presided over the opening ceremony.
  
Scholars and Experts from Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development, Institute of Science and Development under Chinese Academy of Sciences, National Research University Higher School of Economics, RAND Corporation, Atlantic Council, University of Edinburgh, University of Sussex, Cork Institute of Technology, Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies, Springer Nature, National Institute of Science and Technology Policy (Japan), Science and Technology Policy Institute (Korea), Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (India), Tsinghua University, Beijing Great Wall Enterprise Institute, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and Shanghai Institute for Science of Science, has conducted speeches around topics such as “technology foresight and the emerging urban landscape” and “future scitech trends and propelling the growth of original research”. Speakers analyzed the vision for future development of our world and methods for technological foresight and offered insights and advices on how Shanghai can construct itself into a leading global city that act as a hub of science and technology innovation.
  
International Science and Technology Innovation Think Tank Forum has been successfully held for four sessions in the past, and will continue to support the construction of a platform that promote dialogues between international science and technology innovation think tank forum, with aim to gather global wisdom, lead topics on innovation and support the construction of global S&T innovation hub.
