In the afternoon of March 9, 2021, SISS and Fraunhofer ISI joined for an online conference. Shi Qian, Director of SISS, Chang Jing, Director of Research Department of Innovation Policy, Wu Yingying, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Science and Technology Development Research Centre, and Xu Nuo, Research Associate and International Affairs Coordinator attended the meeting. Professor Knut Koschatzky, Senior Research Fellow of Fraunhofer ISI, Germany, and former Honourary Research Fellow of SISS, Dr. Ralf Lindner, Director of the Center for Policy and Social Competence, and Dr. Thomas Stahlecker, Project Manager, Regional Innovation Motivation and Knowledge Exchange Operations Coordinator attended the meeting.
At the Conference, Director Shi Qian welcomed the participation of both sides. Professor Koschatzky expressed his pleasure to take this opportunity to continue the tradition of friendly cooperation between the two sides and to further explore future cooperation opportunities. Subsequently, Director Shi Qian and Director Lindner respectively introduced the general situation of their respective institutions as well as recent research achievements and academic activities. Dr. Stahlecker and Director Chang Jing exchanged views on the formulation and analysis of regional and urban S&T innovation strategies, research on regional innovation dynamics and transformation, design of innovation incentive mechanism and other topics.
In addition, both sides also discussed future cooperation mechanisms and expressed their willingness to strengthen cooperative research in such areas as analysis and evaluation of innovation policies and institutional mechanisms, science and technology governance to address major social challenges and development of regional innovation systems.
